A Proud Moment

Tonight, Abby received her first award. (I'm so proud!) She has been going to a local church's AWANA program as a "Cubbie" (that's what they call the AWANA preschoolers) for the last nine months or so. They are given a book at the beginning of the year and the book has a section to read and a verse to memorize for each week. Abby has been learning her verses and reciting them for her Cubbies leader all year and tonight, she got an award for completing her first book! All Cubbies also receive a vest to wear to club and throughout the year they receive patches to put on the vest for completing book sections. Having been a Cubbies director and teacher, I can truly be proud of her (and her teachers) for all the work she put into finishing her book. That's not to say that I couldn't TRULY be proud of her if I hadn't been. Obviously, I still would be. Although, having been on both the parent and teacher sides, I may have a better idea of just how much effort it takes. Regardless, I'm proud of my little Cubbie! Of course, her fifteen seconds up on stage in the spotlight wasn't nearly enough for our Abby. She kept asking us when she got to go back up. She's destined to be a scene stealer.

Other than that, there's just more of the same going on. Painting, cleaning, packing, etc. Yay.
